A platform bed primarily changes the height and visual weight of a room. Your mattress, its supporting surface and personal preferences remain decisive for actual sleep comfort.
Visible surfaces should be allowed to age.
Our wood models use oiled oak surfaces and selected veneered areas. Wood responds to light and indoor climate; slight colour changes and variations in grain are part of the material.
For concealed structural areas, we use dimensionally stable materials where they perform better than solid sections.
Soft edge, clear form.
Atelier 18 uses a durable textured textile on the visible platform edge. The upholstery is intentionally kept low so the bed's geometry remains clear.
Remove dust regularly with a soft upholstery attachment. Treat stains promptly with minimal moisture and no harsh cleaning products.
Ventilation belongs in the construction.
A mattress should not remain on a completely closed, unventilated surface. Our platforms therefore use spacing and ventilated support zones.
